An industrial dial gauge manufactured by Taylor of Glasgow. The instrument features a circular metal dial face with a white enamelled or painted finish, mounted to a heavy cast-metal bracket. The face is marked with a large blue numeral 4 at the centre. It includes two semi-circular scales graduated from 0 to 21, one printed in blue and the other in red. The dial is inscribed with the text TAYLOR GLASGOW and REGD NO 597480. A central metal pointer is secured by a screw, and two adjustable metal markers are positioned on the outer rim. The construction and markings suggest use in maritime or steam engine applications.
