Four mid-20th-century carved wooden decorative items. The collection includes a stylised mask hand-carved from a single block of medium-toned wood, featuring angular recesses and incised geometric lines, resembling the style of Kenyan export wares such as those by Besmo. Also present are animal figurines, including a gazelle carved from dense, reddish-brown hardwood with an elongated form and a polished finish, and an elephant carved from dark hardwood. The collection is completed by a circular turned wooden lid with a hand-painted floral spray and a pyrographed geometric border, characteristic of European folk art. The surface wear across the items is consistent with mid-20th-century decorative use and indicates authenticity for the period.
