This lot consists of two vintage fencing masks dating from the early to mid-20th century. The first mask features a dark-finished wire mesh face guard bordered by black leather or leatherette trim with a matching black padded bib for neck protection. A curved metal support bar is attached at the chin area. The second mask is constructed with a lighter-coloured metal wire mesh guard and a tan or beige canvas fabric bib. It features a reddish-brown trim material around the face guard and a similar curved metal support bar at the base. Both masks are characteristic of traditional European fencing equipment from the first half of the 20th century, often used for sport or military bayonet training. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the exterior of either item.
