The piece is manufactured from fine English bone china and decorated with an Imari-style pattern using cobalt blue, iron red, and white panels. The decoration includes 22ct gold gilding with intricate scale-like feathering and floral motifs. The base is fitted with an inset gold-tone metal stopper embossed with the Royal Crown Derby crown and monogram. The underside features a red backstamp for Royal Crown Derby English Bone China alongside the Roman numeral date code LVIII, indicating the piece was produced in 1995. Hand-painted decorator marks in purple and brown are present on the base.
