A Dutch silver centrepiece bowl of oval form, featuring high-relief repoussé decoration. The body is ornamented with pastoral scenes depicting figures within landscape settings, including trees and architectural elements, all framed by scrolling rocaille and foliate cartouches. The vessel is designed with an irregular, leaf-cast scalloped rim and two openwork C-scroll handles. The piece is raised on four integral scrolled feet. The base is stamped with a single hallmark within a vertical hexagonal punch, depicting a rampant lion facing left above the numeral 2, which identifies the piece as Dutch second standard silver of .833 fineness.
