A small circular sterling silver dish featuring ornate repoussé and chased decoration in the Rococo Revival style. The piece displays a border of scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and foliate motifs set against a textured ground. The rim is scalloped and crimped, surrounding a plain, unengraved circular central cartouche. The underside shows the reverse of the repoussé work. The item bears a full set of British hallmarks on the front rim: the maker mark W.A for William Aitken, the lion passant indicating .925 sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the lowercase date letter a for the year 1900.
