Two mid-century modern art glass bud vases of differing forms. The first item is a tapering bud vase featuring a ruby red glass body cased over a clear interior, joined to a clear glass spherical base. The base is decorated using the bullicante technique, which consists of a regular pattern of controlled internal air bubbles. The second item is a cylindrical bud vase with a ruby red body cased over a clear interior, terminating in a heavy, solid clear glass base with a smooth, polished finish and a central indentation to the underside. This cylindrical form is reminiscent of the Whitefriars Chimney vase, pattern number 9655. Both pieces are hand-blown and do not display any visible maker marks, signatures, or labels.
Tapering vase height: 25.5 cm
Cylindrical vase height: 20.5 cm.
