The figure is positioned cross-legged on a textured rectangular base, surrounded by an assortment of small pots, jars, and bowls finished in various polychrome glazes including yellow, red, green, and pink. He holds a small yellow jug in his right hand. The underside of the base features a green printed Royal Doulton factory mark with a crown and interlocking D logo, alongside the words Royal Doulton England and Made in England. The base also bears the handwritten title The Potter and the model number HN1493 in green script, as well as a small blue-painted decorator’s mark and a printed number 9.
