A traditional desk armchair in the Captain’s style, featuring a dark-stained hardwood frame. The chair is upholstered in forest green leather with button-tufting to the curved, wraparound backrest. The edges of the seat, back, and armrests are decorated with brass-toned stud trim. The construction includes two vertical splats supporting the backrest and reeded carvings to the armrest terminals. The chair is supported by square-section tapered front legs and slightly splayed rear legs. This piece is a late 20th-century reproduction in the Regency style, similar in design to models produced by Niagara Furniture.
