The piece is finished in a high-gloss cream-coloured glaze with gilt detailing applied to the buttons, the pectoral cross, the chain, and the inscription on the base. The figure is mounted on an integral circular pedestal base which bears the gilt inscription JOHN PAUL II. No maker’s marks or model numbers are visible on the exterior of the piece.
