A mid-20th-century Italian side table in the Sorrento style, featuring a rectangular top decorated with intricate multi-wood marquetry and parquetry. The veneered top is divided into nine distinct panels, each containing scrolling foliate, arabesque, and fleur-de-lis motifs in contrasting light and dark wood veneers. The table is supported by four slender cabriole legs. The front frieze includes a central keyhole with the associated key present, typically indicating an internal musical movement or jewellery compartment. The body and legs are finished in a warm-toned wood, possibly walnut or fruitwood, with a high-gloss lacquer to the top surface.
