A bronze bowl, likely intended as a censer or decorative coupe, exhibiting a dark brown/black patina consistent with age. The exterior is cast in high relief featuring stylized serpentine creatures and cloud motifs, bordered along the foot rim by a geometric meander pattern. The inverted base features a central, raised circular medallion containing the single Chinese character 壽 (Shòu, longevity). This character is repeated in the center well of the interior. Areas of recession and the central characters are heavily accented by blue-green verdigris or turquoise pigment. The item is identified in the market as a Chinese Bronze Censer.
