An antique industrial flame safety lamp manufactured by The Wolf Safety Lamp Co. (Wm Maurice) Ltd., Sheffield. The construction utilizes composite materials, featuring a heavily patinated steel or iron hood and base, contrasted with tarnished brass components forming the fount ring and supporting pillars. A clear glass cylinder protects the flame mechanism. Inscriptions are visible around the brass base reading: “THE WOLF SAFETY LAMP CO (WM MAURICE) LTD SHEFFIELD.” A separate brass identification tag is affixed to the hood, stamped with numerical identifiers including “620,” “G.P.5,” and “D59.” This type of lamp was historically used as a flame safety lamp in mining environments.
