Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of nine decorative glass vessels, predominantly in various shades of ruby and cranberry, with some featuring clear glass stems or bases. The collection includes diverse forms such as a tall baluster-shaped vase, several smaller vases of differing designs, a stemmed wine glass, a stemmed cordial glass, and a tumbler. One prominent vase features extensive gilt decoration and a transfer-printed portrait of a crowned male figure in historical military attire, alongside a shield bearing three fleurs-de-lis. Other pieces display gilded patterns or etched designs, including a bird motif on one vase. The items are consistently made of glass, representing a range of decorative styles from historical commemorative to ornamental utilitarian. While some pieces, such as the tumbler and stemmed glasses, share characteristics with ‘Anchor Hocking Royal Ruby Red’ glassware, the collection as a whole encompasses a broader array of styles and potential origins.
