Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of eight softcover publications, predominantly focused on historical military aviation. This lot includes six volumes from the Japanese series ‘世界の傑作機’ (Sekai no Kessakuki), also known as ‘Famous Airplanes of the World’ or ‘Masterpieces of the World’s Aircraft’, published between 1973 and 1978 by Bunrindo. These Japanese publications feature detailed line drawings and photographs of aircraft, with specific titles identifying them as ‘零式艦上戦闘機’ (Reishiki Kanjō Sentōki), the ‘Type Zero Carrier Fighter’ or ‘Zero Fighter,’ ‘鍾馗’ (Shōki), and ‘特集 日本陸軍試作戦闘機’ (Tokushu Nihon Rikugun Shisaku Sentōki), ‘Special Feature: Japanese Army Experimental Fighters.’ Also present are two English-language publications: ‘FLEET AIR ARM,’ an account of naval air operations, and ‘TARGET: GERMANY,’ described as the official story of the U.S. Army Air Forces’ VIII Bomber Command. The English books bear historical pricing in shillings, suggesting an earlier publication period, likely wartime or immediate post-war.
