Another Great Auction 20th November
A collection of Wedgwood ceramic tableware, decorated with Beatrix Potter designs. The collection comprises various plates, including some featuring clock numerals or an alphabet border, a soup bowl, and a teacup with a matching saucer. The items are decorated in a colorful, illustrative storybook style, depicting characters and scenes from Beatrix Potter’s tales, such as Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, and Benjamin Bunny. Numerous pieces feature direct narrative excerpts and quotes from the English stories, including “Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits…” and “Now, my dears,” said old Mrs. Rabbit, “you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don’t go into Mr. McGregor’s garden.” This commemorative or children’s ware is likely from the late 20th to early 21st century.
