A Chinese Chinoiserie ceramic umbrella stand, featuring a tall, cylindrical form crafted from glazed earthenware. The main body is decorated with an off-white ground, adorned with a vibrant, multi-color design depicting a stylized tree with green leaves and orange/red fruit, intertwined with a prominent, ornate bird resembling a peacock or phoenix, rendered in blues, greens, oranges, and browns, with smaller complementary motifs near its base. The top and bottom rims are accented with a distinctive black and white checkered band, bordered by solid dark brown or black bands. The interior is glazed in a plain off-white. No visible text, maker’s marks, or other inscriptions are apparent. The stylized naturalistic motifs and color palette suggest an aesthetic popular in the late 19th to early 20th centuries, possibly influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement or Japanese decorative arts.
