Another Great Auction 20th November
A sterling silver ‘Sherry’ decanter label, crafted in Birmingham in 1981. This ornate label features a rectangular form with a rococo-revival or Victorian-style scrolled and foliate border, suspended by a delicate chain. The front face is engraved with the word “SHERRY” in block capitals. Hallmarks visible below the main text include the maker’s mark “B.L”, the lion passant indicating sterling silver, the anchor mark for the Birmingham assay office, and the capital ‘G’ date letter for 1981.
