An oil painting on canvas or board, depicting a seated, half-length portrait of a figure, likely male, with dark hair and crossed arms. The artwork is rendered in a thick impasto style. The subject wears a light-colored top with dark horizontal stripes on the sleeves and dark trousers, set against a background of broad, vertical strokes of green and off-white. The painting is presented in a natural wood frame with a simple profile and a carved or molded decorative pattern resembling a rope or braid along its outermost edge. The style suggests a modern period, possibly mid-to-late 20th century. No discernible text or artist’s signature is visible on the front of the piece.
