The interior features thick pages, some with gilded edges, varying in color including cream and light green. Contents include illustrations in a late 19th to early 20th-century style, such as cartoon baby faces. A detailed black-and-white drawing of a sleeping figure is present, signed “J. W. Riley.” Handwritten text includes an excerpt of poetry with visible lines: “…to grumble and complain. It’s just as cheap and easy to rejoice, when God says out the weather & sends you. Why, rain’s my choice.” Another page features a watercolor landscape depicting a windmill at sunset or sunrise, signed “J. Westman, Hinderwell.”
