A George III style mahogany? chest-on-chest of two-part construction. The upper section features a moulded cornice above three graduated long drawers, resting upon a lower section containing three further graduated long drawers. The piece is raised on bracket feet. Each drawer front is decorated with an inlaid light-wood? crossbanded border and is fitted with twin brass? swan-neck handles on decorative shaped backplates. The secondary timbers are not visible but are likely pine? or oak? based on the period style. The overall finish is a dark-toned mahogany? with decorative stringing accentuating the drawer perimeters. The construction appears to be of the late 19th or early 20th century, following the traditional Georgian form.
