A scythe comprising a curved tubular aluminium? snath fitted with two adjustable wooden handles held by metal ring clamps. The steel blade is secured at the heel with a screw clamp mechanism and is fitted with a blue plastic edge protector. The lower section of the snath bears a blue and white adhesive label printed with the text SHROPSHIRE SCYTHES. The blade features a rectangular black and gold label with a central bird emblem, bearing the text SCHRÖCKENFUX and AUSTRIA below. The wooden grips are of turned, ergonomic form.
