A vintage Masonic belt buckle of rectangular form, featuring a multi-layered construction with a central raised oval plaque. The plaque, likely constructed of ceramic? or enamel, depicts the Masonic Square and Compasses symbol in gold and black with a blue letter G at the centre, set against a radial sunburst. This central element is framed by a gilt-metal effect rope-twist and beaded border. The main body of the buckle is decorated with large acanthus-style leaves at the top and bottom in a gilt-metal effect, set against a dark grey textured ground, with foliate side borders. The reverse is finished with a textured gilt-metal effect and is fitted with a rectangular loop and a curved attachment prong. The backplate bears a vertically stamped mark reading Made in U.S.A. Two screws are positioned on the reverse which secure the decorative elements to the backplate.
