A white metal five-light candelabrum designed in the Rococo? style. The central pillar is of faceted, tapering form, rising from an ornate spreading base. The upper section features four scrolling arms which branch from a foliate junction, each supporting a matching candle cup above a circular drip pan. The arms are embellished with stylised acanthus leaf motifs at the curves. The whole piece is supported by a substantial lobed pedestal base, heavily worked with repoussé-effect decoration including scrolls, foliage, and shell patterns in the Rococo? taste. The surface shows evidence of extensive iridescent oxidation and surface tarnish throughout, particularly concentrated around the candle holders and arm junctions.
