A Royal Doulton bone china figurine entitled Sweet Poetry, model number HN 4113. The piece depicts a standing young woman in a voluminous gown featuring a blue lace-edged bodice and a white skirt with blue shaded folds, terminating in a deep pink ruffled hem. She is posed with her head turned to the side while holding an open book in her raised right hand. The base features a black printed mark consisting of a lion atop a crown above a circular device containing the text ROYAL DOULTON, MADE IN ENGLAND and BONE CHINA. Further text reads hand decorated followed by a registered trademark symbol, the model name SWEET POETRY and HN 4113. Below the text Modelled by is a facsimile signature for Nada M. Pedley. The base also displays a copyright date (C) 1998 ROYAL DOULTON, a small black stylized heraldic crest device and handwritten decorator marks in blue ink reading wp : and k.c. The figurine is accompanied by a dark blue manufacturer’s presentation box.
